As part of the initial wave of ticket sales for Epic Universe, Universal Orlando has announced details on how access will be controlled to Epic Universe ahead of anticipated high demand for the all-new theme park. In short, the current ticket options will not require any sort of park reservations, and any guest who purchases the current ticket options will be guaranteed access to Epic Universe. Here are the details.
Epic Universe Ticket Validity Windows
In an FAQ, Universal Orlando explains how the ticket process will work for the current multi-day ticket packages just announced for Epic Universe. Guests who purchase the current multi-day ticket option will not be required to specify which date they plan on visiting Epic Universe. Instead, guests will simply indicate which date they would like their multi-day ticket to start on, and they will be able to visit Epic Universe whenever they’d like during that multi-day validity window.
Q: Do guests need to specify the date that they are visiting Universal Epic Universe when purchasing a multi-day ticket for 3-days or longer?
A: No, when purchasing the current multi-day ticket options that include one-day admission to Universal Epic Universe, you will not need to specify the date that you plan to visit Epic Universe. You’ll only need to indicate the first date that you would like your overall ticket to be valid, and you will be able to visit any of the parks beginning on that date.
Epic Universe Attendance Management & Guaranteed Access
The next question then becomes about attendance management. Epic Universe will very likely be a popular destination next summer, and guests who purchase the current multi-day ticket option are guaranteed to be able to visit Epic Universe during the course of their validity window for their ticket package.
Q: Are guests guaranteed to be able to visit Universal Epic Universe with their ticket?
A: We plan to manage attendance at Universal Epic Universe to ensure we’re providing the best possible experience for our guests. As part of this process, ticket inventory and capacity will be controlled to allow each guest who purchases an Epic Universe-inclusive ticket to visit the park for one day during the course of the validity window of their ticket.
If Universal Orlando manages ticket sales correctly, even opening day can be tolerable. We’ll have to wait and see how the initial wave of ticket sales goes, but Universal does say that they will limit ticket inventory as a form of crowd management.
