While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning, we noticed that roughly half of the park is closed to guests. The Echo Lake area, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours, Grand Avenue, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway has reopened) are all closed to guests. Here’s a look around!
Half of Hollywood Studios Closed This Morning
Cast Members lined Hollywood Boulevard, preventing guest access to the above-mentioned areas. While a direct walking path to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was not available, the land was accessible via the Toy Story Land entrance. All guests wishing to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were directed to enter via the Animation Courtyard area entrance to Toy Story Land.
Sunset Boulevard was open to guests.
It’s unknown what has caused the closure, but there doesn’t appear to be any immediate safety concerns. Off-duty Cast Members are still walking through the area.
Cast Members we spoke with were not sure when the closed portion of Hollywood Studios would open to guests, only saying “hopefully soon”. Walt Disney World did not immediately return a request for comment about the abnormal closure.

UPDATE: We have spotted crews pressure washing the ground near the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. More specifically, the pressure washing appeared to be in the area of the Oasis Canteen kiosk. It is assumed, but unconfirmed, that whatever they’re cleaning is related to the closure.

Typically, all of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is open to guests, with Resort Guest Early Entry checkpoints preventing day guests from entering Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and a portion of Sunset Boulevard.
