Turbocharge! The demolition of the Studio 1 Company Store has taken place at a wonderful pace, and most of the structure is now demolished. While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios this evening, we noticed that most of the Muppets-themed gift shop was demolished, with only a portion of one of the walls still standing. The gift shop is being demolished and replaced with a park-like setting for the upcoming Monsters Inc.-themed land replacing Muppets Courtyard. Here’s a look at the latest demolition progress!
MuppetVision 3D Gift Shop Demolition
First, here’s a look back at the Stage 1 Company Store before Muppets Courtyard was permanently closed. The building had a backlot warehouse look on the outside, merged with a Muppets-themed facade toward the back of the building, and a New York City street look on another side of the building.

And here’s a look at what we were able to see from our visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this evening.

Here’s a look at the plaza in front of the former MuppetVision 3D attraction. The Muppets gift shop building used to stand roughly in the area behind the green excavator.

Here’s a better look at the Stage 1 Company Store demolition. As we mentioned, only one wall is standing. We expect that will be knocked down early tomorrow. Other work in the area includes some demolition of pavement around the former Miss Piggy fountain. Other buildings appear to be relatively untouched. Only the Stage 1 Company Store was slated for demolition as part of the Monsters Inc. Land reimagining.
