After missing a Spring 2025 deadline, Walt Disney World has announced that the refurbishment of the playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant has been delayed. Here’s the latest.

Dumbo Playground Closed at Magic Kingdom
The indoor playground closed back in February. At the time, Walt Disney World said that the refurbishment would be complete by Spring 2025. With the official start of Summer just days away (and the unofficial start of Summer already underway at the theme parks), Disney World has posted a new notice on its website about the playground closure.
The indoor children’s playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue is closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year. The attraction will remain open and available during this time.
In recent weeks, the original notice with a Spring 2025 reopening timeframe had been removed from the Walt Disney World website, but the playground never reopened.

The Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction remains open to guests and unaffected by the closure of the playground.
