The Walt Disney Company has revealed some names it is considering for the Disneyland theme park being developed in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
On May 7, 2025, The Walt Disney Company announced that it planned to build its first-ever theme park in the UAE. The waterfront destination will be located on Yas Island and include “signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi.”

Like Tokyo Disney Resort, the Emirates Disney park won’t be operated by The Walt Disney Company. During development and construction, Walt Disney Imagineering will collaborate with Miral, the “leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences” in Abu Dhabi. The third-party company will operate the park under license from Disney.
Thanks to a new report from Forbes and public records, we now know that the day before announcing Disneyland Abu Dhabi, Disney Enterprises registered multiple domain names related to the project: emiratesdisneyland.com, disneylandarabia.com, disneylandyasisland.com, and yasdisneyland.com. They also took over disneylandabudhabi.com, which an unknown and unrelated individual had previously registered in April.

Now, just because Disney has taken control of all of these domains doesn’t mean that it intends to use them. The links are currently dead, and most of the domain names expire one year from the registration date (though Disney can obviously pay to renew them). Since Disney and Miral seemingly haven’t decided on a name for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, they likely wanted to get ahead of any potential bidding wars over their eventual chosen domain name.
Disney hasn’t announced the official name of its theme park destination in Abu Dhabi or shared a projected opening date. Miral Group and Disney have said the park will be indoors with the first-ever “modern Disney Castle” and promised it would be the most technologically advanced Disney park yet.
