Eye in the sky Bioreconstruct has shared some new photos of the demolition of the Stage 1 Company Store building, which used to be themed to the Muppets and act as the MuppetVision 3D gift shop. We’ve been tracking the demolition as best we can from the ground, but aerial photos provide a unique perspective of the work. Here’s a look!
Aerial Photos of Muppets Courtyard Demolition
First, here’s a look back at the Stage 1 Company Store before Muppets Courtyard was permanently closed. The building had a backlot warehouse look on the outside, merged with a Muppets-themed facade toward the back of the building, and a New York City street look on another side of the building.

Here’s a brief look at the demolition progress as of last night.

With that context out of the way, here’s a fresh look at the demolition work as seen from a helicopter hundreds of feet in the air above Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As you can see, crews knocked down the final wall this morning, and now it’s a matter of hauling off the debris.

Also underway nearby is some demolition of pavement in front of the former MuppetVision 3D attraction. Concept art shows that the former Miss Piggy fountain will stay in place, as will the remaining buildings standing in the area.

Honestly, the demolition of the gift shop and the work underway on the upcoming new roller coaster represent an acceleration of the typical speed at which we’re used to watching Disney operate. With a number of construction projects taking place around Walt Disney World, it’ll be interesting to see if Disney can keep this pace going, especially as we’ve already seen some slowing over at the Tropical Americas construction site.
