Chewbacca is meeting in a more traditional meet and greet this Summer within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Typically, guests could encounter Chewbacca while he roamed around Galaxy’s Edge. With the brightest of suns now deployed over Batuu for the next few months, it looks like Chewbacca is seeking a bit more shade.
Traditional Meet and Greet with Chewbacca in Galaxy’s Edge
Chewbacca is the first character to have a traditional meet and greet in Hollywood Studios’ version of Star Wars land. The conceit of the land as a living, breathing space where characters roam freely is taking a bit of a back seat to safety, it would seem. Chewbacca, with layers and layers (and layers) of fur likely needs to be in a more shaded environment if he’s going to continue meeting during the hot summer months here in Central Florida the Outer Rim.
Guests looking to meet with Chewbacca in Galaxy’s Edge will be able to find him near the Millennium Falcon. More specifically, Chewbacca can be found near a backstage gate to the right of the Falcon. While we’ve seen Chewbacca spend most of his time in this traditional meet-and-greet setup, he does roam from time to time as he’s able.
Here’s a look at the setup before Chewbacca arrived, and then a few photos of Chewbacca in his new meet-and-greet spot. As of publish time, there is no published meet and greet times or even a location for Chewbacca within the My Disney Experience app.
