Walt Disney World is starting to remove props from Tom Sawyer Island ahead of the draining of the Rivers of America and demolition of the island. We’ve seen some reports that Disney has begun draining the Rivers of America, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that a number of tagged props had been removed, including a section of the wooden wall where “Tom [heart] Becky” was written in white paint. Here’s a look around!
Props, “Tom Loves Becky” Wall Removed from Tom Sawyer Island
First, here’s a look back at the wall, which had “Huck” and “Tom [heart] Becky” on the unpainted portion of the wall.

And here’s a look at the same area from our visit to Magic Kingdom today, with this particular section of the wall removed. The removal of the wall ahead of the demolition of the island would suggest that Disney is preserving it.

Elsewhere, we noticed that some props have been removed from other parts of the island as well. Ropes, boxes, and other assorted props are now missing after being tagged by Imagineers recently. Here are some before/after shots, where possible.

The Rivers of America will be drained, and Tom Sawyer Island will be demolished as Imagineering works to create a Cars-themed expansion to Frontierland and an all-new Villains Land.
