Most people don’t go to Disney World expecting to feel queasy. But now and then, a ride catches you off guard and turns your magical day into a mission to find the nearest trash can. While Disney is known for being family-friendly and smooth on the senses, a few attractions have a reputation for making even seasoned theme park fans a little green.
If motion sickness is something you’re even slightly prone to, these are three rides you might want to think twice about.
1. Mad Tea Party (Magic Kingdom)
You’ve seen it. It’s colorful, iconic, and looks innocent enough. But those spinning teacups? They can sneak up on you fast. Located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, Mad Tea Party has been twirling guests around since opening day—but if you’ve got a sensitive stomach, this classic may not feel so charming.
The ride doesn’t just spin in circles—it lets you spin the teacup even faster by turning a central wheel. If you’re riding with someone who thinks it’s funny to go full tilt, good luck keeping your equilibrium (or your lunch). The combination of circular motion, no set rhythm, and bright colors can quickly disorient you. Many guests laugh the whole way through, while others walk off looking like they’ve just finished a marathon on a Tilt-A-Whirl.

2. Avatar Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom)
This ride is stunning. Located in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, Flight of Passage lets you “link” with an avatar and fly through the skies of Pandora on the back of a banshee. The visuals are breathtaking, the technology is next-level, and the story is immersive from the moment you step into the queue.
But here’s the thing: it’s also a motion simulator that mimics the feeling of flying, diving, and swooping in ways that can mess with your sense of balance. You’re strapped onto a bike-like seat with a screen in front of you, and the ride uses subtle movements and wind effects to trick your brain into believing you’re really soaring. For some guests, the experience is exhilarating. For others? Nausea kicks in quickly, especially during the more intense dips and turns. If you’re even mildly sensitive to screen-based rides, you might want to sit this one out—or at least ride it before lunch.

3. Mission: SPACE – Orange Mission (EPCOT)
Ah yes, Mission: SPACE—the ride that literally comes with barf bags. Found in EPCOT’s World Discovery area, this attraction simulates a rocket launch and space mission, complete with G-forces and spinning pods. And when Disney warns you to choose between the “Green” and “Orange” missions carefully? Believe them.
The Orange side is the intense version. You’re loaded into a centrifuge that spins you fast enough to simulate liftoff, gravity shifts, and space travel. It’s thrilling, but also one of the few Disney rides known to cause guests to actually lose their lunch. If you’re claustrophobic, sensitive to motion, or just had a churro… maybe skip this one entirely. Even experienced riders have come off feeling woozy.

Save the Magic, Skip the Motion Sickness
Disney World has plenty of thrilling and immersive attractions, but if you’re looking to avoid a stomach-turning experience, Mad Tea Party, Avatar Flight of Passage, and Mission: SPACE (Orange) should probably stay off your list. There’s no shame in skipping the spinny stuff—there’s a whole world of magic out there that doesn’t require a strong stomach.
