With cast member previews starting, it was inevitable that video of the new Test Track would leak online, and that’s precisely what happened. New video shows the extent of the changes to the ride and queue at Test Track 3.0 and the homage to the ride’s former self.

The new Test Track explores the future of transportation technology and how those improvements will change our driving experiences. The updated Test Track gives a slight tip of the cap to the World of Motion, which explored transportation’s past, present, and future.
The World of Motion was an opening-day attraction at EPCOT that closed in 1996. In 1999, Test Track replaced it. Despite the slight nod to its predecessor, Test Track 3.0 is very similar to its 2.0 version.
Among the new items is a completely revised queue. Disney removed the design-your-own car feature from the queue and replaced it with a showroom featuring cars of the future.

While the ride vehicles looked much different in the concept art, they are similar to the ones from Test Track 2.0. While Disney did change much of the ride’s storyline, the ride’s track is the same as well, giving guests a familiar feeling.
The updated ride starts by “setting a course for the future,” as guests learn about the roads of the future and cars’ ability to keep people safe. A cool update is when guests get to ride through and see what the future cars will look like as the ride vehicle changes design.
Just before heading outside for the loop, guests get a view of the cities of tomorrow and the flying cars that will take them there. As with Test Track 2.0, guests end their ride by hitting 65 miles per hour in the outdoor loop.
Test Track closed last June and will open to the general public on July 22. While the updated version of the ride is similar to its predecessor, guests will enjoy some new features and experiences. And the older people in your party will enjoy the nod to the World of Motion.
