More than 145 people reported being stabbed with syringes at concerts across France last weekend as millions celebrated the Fête de la Musique (World Music Day) at free performances across the country. Twelve people have been arrested, according to French authorities. Amidst the chaos, Disneyland Paris Resort continued with its first-ever Disney Music Festival event, its version of the Fête de la Musique celebrations.
The Disney Music Festival began in April and will continue through September. It features four live concerts and eight “musical encounters” with Walt Disney Animation and Pixar characters across Discoveryland, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland Park. The entertainment offerings cover several genres, including classical, pop, rock, folk, and electronic. Of course, no Disney Park event would be complete without exclusive merchandise and themed food and beverage offerings.
As thousands of people celebrated the Fête de la Musique at Disneyland Paris Resort, millions more took to the streets across France for free music performances. Unfortunately, at least 145 people reported being pricked or stabbed with syringes at outdoor events across the country–13 in Paris.

According to the Guardian, a feminist influencer warned that “calls had been made on social media for women to be targeted with syringes.” However, where those calls were posted or who posted them wasn’t clear.
Some stabbing victims were taken to the hospital for toxicology tests, but police wouldn’t say whether any victims had date-rape drugs such as Rohypnol or GHB in their systems. Several teenagers reported “feeling unwell” after they were pricked. Many of the 145 victims were under 18.
Police said twelve suspects have been arrested across France in conjunction with the stabbings. Four people in the Southwestern city of Angoulême reportedly targeted more than 50 people. One suspect, a 20-year-old man in Metz, had previously been known to the police for violent activities.

At this time, there are no reports that Disneyland Paris Resort was impacted by the mass stabbings last weekend. Disneyland Park hit capacity and closed its gates on Monday evening, which appears unrelated to the violence across France. Walt Disney Studios Park and Disney Village operated normally in the wake of the incidents.
