For more than a decade, Billy Ray Cyrus was known as the country singer who shot to the top of the charts with his smash hit “Achy Breaky Heart.” His career then skyrocketed in 2006, when his daughter, Miley Cyrus, was cast as the lead in the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana. The show was one of the most successful in Disney Channel history, and Miley became one of the most famous teenagers on the planet. Billy Ray’s career saw a huge resurgence, and he once again became a household name.

Hannah Montana ran for four seasons, and fans were devastated when the series ended in 2011. However, Miley Cyrus managed to use the show to catapult herself to superstardom, and she remains one of the most talked-about celebrities in the world. Even though she no longer tours, she still makes music and frequently talks about her time as a child star.
Many people would think that starring on a Disney Channel show would be nothing but sunshine and rainbows. However, many Disney child stars admit that it was one of the most difficult experiences of their lives.
And now, a recent revelation made by Miley shows that her time on Hannah Montana wasn’t as pure as everyone might have thought.

Miley was a guest on her mom and sister’s podcast, Sorry We’re Cyrus With Tish & Brandi. During the show, her mom, Tish, asked her what memories from her time on Hannah Montana still make her laugh. Miley’s answer was somewhat surprising.
According to Miley, her dad used to smoke pot on the set and then blame her for it. Her mom said that she remembered that, and she never believed the accusations against her then-husband.
In an even more surprising turn, Miley and her mother then blamed her co-star Mitchel Musso for the drug use that occurred on set. Musso starred on the series as Miley Stewart’s best friend, Oliver Oken. Oliver was one of the few people who knew that average teenager Miley Stewart was actually the international superstar, Hannah Montana.

After the accusations went viral, Musso made a statement to E! News denying the allegations against him. He did not deny that there was drug use on set, but firmly states that he was not the one using.
“Well, that’s not how I remember it. However, I’ve got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we’re revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word. All love to Miley and the fam, even when the rewrites get this creative.”

Miley and her father have been making headlines for months after news of their estrangement became public. Things really hit a fever pitch when a recording was released in which Billy Ray could be heard calling his daughter a “devil” and a “skank.” It was then that insiders claimed that Billy Ray was “dead” to Miley and their relationship was officially over.
Despite their struggles, the two have apparently been able to fix their relationship. In a recent interview, Miley was asked if she was estranged from her father, and she answered with a simple “no.”
The “Flowers” singer also admitted that, during her parents’ divorce, she took on some of her mother’s pain as her own, which strained her relationship with her dad.

Miley called the time she was struggling with her familial relationships a “dark decade.” She said that multiple family members were not speaking to each other, and a lot of it had to do with her loyalty to her mom.
Thankfully, her family was able to reopen the lines of communication, and things seem to be going well between the starlet and her famous father. She also admitted that she was working on a new album and was going to use her music to tell her story.
