Last week, several riders were trapped on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after midnight when the Disneyland Resort attraction abruptly shut down. Two of the affected Disney Park guests shared their experience in a video on social media.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in the newly-renamed Bayou Country (formerly Critter Country) at Disneyland Park on November 15, 2024, five months after Walt Disney World Resort‘s version debuted in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom. The former Splash Mountain lost its controversial Song of the South (1946) theme in favor of a new story inspired by The Princess and the Frog (2009). Guests join Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley), Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis), and more as they find musicians for a New Orleans-style celebration.

Like any Disney Park attraction, the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort versions of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure experienced some operational difficulties in their first few weeks. At Magic Kingdom Park, several Disney cast member and Annual Passholder ride previews ended hours early. While Disneyland Park’s version seemed to have a smoother start, it occasionally experiences brief interruptions.

Last week, TikTok user Erica E (@lilweirdgemini) shared a video of herself and another Disneyland Park guest trapped on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after midnight. The ride abruptly shut down after the pair were already drenched, making the experience even more uncomfortable for the exhausted guests.

Stuck on Tiana’s Bayou for a good 10 mins in the cold right at midnight & I’d do it again 🤘🏽💀#fyp #disneyland #disneyworld #disney #disneyadult #disneygirl #disneyaddict #fypage #disneyparks #disneytiktok #disneyprincess #disneyplus

“We got stuck right after the drop but was getting splashed by the waterfall for 10 straight minutes,” the Disney Park guest recalled. “…in the cold right at midnight.”

Luckily, the log flume ride restarted after about ten minutes, and Erica had a positive attitude about the unfortunate situation. “I’d do it again,” she wrote in the video’s caption.

Disneyland Resort rarely issues public statements about minor attraction issues like this one, so it’s unclear what caused Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to pause operations last week. However, the attraction eventually reopened and was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
