As we previously hinted at, Universal Orlando has officially extended Annual Passholder previews of the upcoming Epic Universe theme park. The first wave of Annual Passholder previews of Epic Universe was available through May 8th, but the latest extension takes previews right up to grand opening week. Here’s the latest!
Universal Extends Annual Passholder Previews of Epic Universe
According to the Universal Orlando website, Epic Universe preview tickets are now available for Annual Passholders through May 19th. As a reminder, the theme park will have its grand opening on May 22nd. Prices range from $123 to $131 during the May 8-19 timeframe. Leaked data suggests that Universal Orlando will be limiting ticket sales to just under 7,000 Passholders per day.
We have attended one Annual Passholder preview so far, with a few more dates on the schedule. Capacity has been quite limited during Passholder previews. Frankly, the uptake from Annual Passholders has been relatively low as well, with extremely low crowds being the theme of the previews so far. We would guess that Universal is only seeing about 5,000 guests total per day during these early previews – much less than during the Team Member previews.
One caveat that is certainly limiting preview attendance is that it is a paid preview. Not only that, but the pricing is essentially at full price for a ticket. When you combine a paid preview with a limit on who can purchase tickets, it has been a recipe for very low crowds. We’ll have more thoughts on the preview period once we attend another preview next week.
