The bugs have been exterminated as It’s Tough To Be A Bug has closed permanently at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The opening day attraction had its final day of operation yesterday. An all-new Zootopia-themed attraction will open this upcoming Winter in the Tree of Life Theater vacated by It’s Tough To Be A Bug. We stopped by Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning to take a look at the overnight removal of the attraction signage.
It’s Tough To Be A Bug Permanently Closed
It’s Tough To Be A Bug was an indoor theater show centered around the life of bugs and how their presence benefited humanity. While the show utilized in-theater effects to tell the story. An all-new Zootopia-themed show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether will open this Winter.
Here’s a look at the former It’s Tough To Be A Bug attraction area as seen this morning. The attraction signage has been removed, and a portion of the walkway along the backside of the Tree of Life is now blocked off.

And here’s a look at the area this morning with the signage removed.


A portion of the walkway remains open for guests to access the Tree of Life Gardens walkway in front of the Tree. The rest of the attraction queue is blocked off.


The walkway along the backside of the Tree of Life is blocked off from the attraction exit to the Asia gates. As we’ll see in a bit, the other side of the Tree of Life offers a bit more access for guests to walk along the Discovery Island River and check out the animal exhibits.





A new show based on Zootopia is coming to the Tree of Life Theater. The new show will include a Clawhauser Audio-Animatronic and 4D effects. Disney first announced the Zootopia show back in September 2023 when they said that Imagineers were finalizing the concept.
The new show coming to the Tree of Life Theater features Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and all their friends from Disney Animation’s Zootopia. The show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will take guests on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film.
