Last week, we noticed that there was some new work underway at the still-closed Tortuga Tavern dining location in Adventureland. On a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we checked in on the project and found that our suspicion about a floor refurbishment ended up being correct. Here’s a look around!
New Flooring & Design Coming to Tortuga Tavern
We’ll start with a look back at the flooring when Tortuga Tavern was a temporary shopping location called Tortuga Treasures. As you can see below, the tile-style look had a rather standard, square-shaped look.
As you can see in our photos below, the previous flooring has been ripped up, and 2x4s appear to show that a new design will soon be poured into the location.
Walt Disney World had previously posted operating hours for Tortuga Tavern starting January 1st, but that ended up being incorrect as the location never opened. Tortuga Tavern typically operates seasonally and was open last Summer.
Walt Disney World has not announced a reopening timeframe for the quick-service dining location, but we imagine that they’re preparing it for operation later this year when the Pirates-themed bar opens across the street.
