The first time I saw the exterior of Mythos restaurant at Islands of Adventure, I was in complete awe. It’s a unique place unlike any other at Universal Orlando or even any other theme park. The exterior features towering rock formations, cascading waterfalls, and ancient figures carved into the side of the restaurant. Once inside, your jaw may drop as the interior is just as, if not even more, impressive than the outside. The cavernous interior creates the feel of a craggy grotto on a distant ocean. Outdoor seating offers a spectacular view of the park’s inland sea and colorful lands.

This award-winning, full-service restaurant offers exceptional modern cuisine in a mythical setting that sparks the imagination. Featuring a mix of Mediterranean, Asian, and American fare, Mythos’ casually elegant menu includes options like Greek salad, Pad Thai, sandwiches, burgers, and more. There’s also a separate children’s menu for little ones. Indulge in an outstanding dessert or selection from the full wine list to make your time spent in this mythical space even more sublime.

During my recent trip, I had the Pad Thai, which features rice noodles, mixed vegetables, chicken, and shrimp tossed in a mild sweet and sour peanut sauce. This dish is a really decent portion size and has lots of protein in it. This isn’t the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had, but the sauce is also a little different from the standard Pad Thai; usually, the sauce has a slight lime tartness to it, and this one is more of a savory peanut flavor. The chicken was also a little dry, but the shrimp was perfectly cooked. This is also topped with crunchy wonton strips, which is usually not standard for this dish but adds great texture! Overall,l I give this dish an 8/10.

The ambiance is definitely grand and inspiring. The entire time I was dining, I kept looking around in wonder at every detail around me. Reservations for lunch and dinner are highly recommended as this is a popular spot. If you’re looking for a sit-down dining spot (which gives you a chance to get off your feet!) with great food, Mythos should definitely be at the top of your list!
