I found maybe one of the most underrated hotel dining spots during my recent stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland Resort-GCH Craftsman Bar. When craving the perfect place to unwind with friends and family, make yourself at home in a space inspired by Craftsman architecture, as exemplified in iconic homes such as the Gamble House in Pasadena, California. You’ll find an inviting blend of seating options and delightful Arts and Crafts touches throughout the spacious, al fresco setting. With a bite to eat, soak it all in while sipping on an ice-cold beer, glass of wine, or handcrafted libation from the full-service bar. The GCH Craftsman Bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.


For breakfast, you can find savory menu items such as Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwiches with caper cream cheese, arugula, and red onions, or indulge in something sweet like thick-sliced Brioche French Toast topped with vanilla-sweetened Mascarpone cream and fresh berries. Classic brunch cocktails and specialty drinks, such as the hot Grand Candied Orange Coffee made with Grand Marnier, Kahlua, and brandy, are available, too.

At lunch or dinner, complement your beverage with a shareable starter or delectable entree—the menu boasts a gourmet mix of bites, including artisanal pizzas, shareable nachos, and more! There’s also a section dedicated to kid-friendly plates.

During my recent trip, I dined here for dinner, and it was an incredibly wonderful experience. Reservations are strongly recommended, but they do take walks up. I had an early evening reservation and was seated at a nice table poolside, where I had a great view of the pool, the gorgeous hotel, the bar, and all the seating under the pergola strung with beautiful flowers. It’s a great area to grab a meal or even just a drink, socialize, and relax.


For dinner, I ordered a salad and a pizza, both of which had very large portion sizes, so they are definitely shareable!

Flat Iron Steak Salad
Kale and Romaine, Avocado, Corn, Jicama, Cherry Tomatoes, Cilantro, crispy Tortilla Strips, Toasted Pepitas, Cotija Cheese with Greek yogurt Caesar Dressing (Substitute Salmon or Chicken)
This salad has very fresh ingredients, and the steak was cooked exactly as I requested- medium, rare. This is a healthier option, and it’s very filling and packed with flavor! 10/10 rating.

Charcuterie Pizza

Premium Pepperoni, Prosciutto, Sausage, Arugula, Fire-roasted Tomatoes and House Cheese Blend
This is some excellent pizza! It’s wood-fired pizza, which is usually the best! The crust is bubbly with a nice little crunch; the marinara is light and flavorful; the cheese is a perfect consistency; there is the perfect amount of pepperoni and sausage; and last but not least, the prosciutto and arugula are both so fresh and are really what add that extra special touch to this pizza. As you can see below, their pizzas are pretty big, and 2-3 people can definitely share them. Have leftovers and staying on property? Ask the server to box it up, and you can put it in your mini fridge and have it as a snack later on!


Overall, my experience at GCH Craftsman Bar was fantastic! The server was on top of checking in without being overbearing, and there were such laid-back vibes amongst the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant and the pool area. I already can’t wait to go back and highly recommend dining here whether or not you are staying at Disney’s Grand Californian!
