The holiday season at Disneyland is undoubtedly one of the most magical times of the year. What is better than sipping on a steaming cup of decadent hot chocolate, walking down Main Street under festive decor, seeing the characters in winter costumes, and, oh, did we mention popping into all the stores to shop for holiday merch? One of the other things we love about the holiday season at the park is the Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday attractions. Both attractions have the most jaw-dropping holiday overlays, and guests come from around the world to see it all with their own eyes.

The problem with this, obviously, is that both of these attractions have pretty long lines, on average about 90 minutes+ throughout the day. There is so much to do and see; I think it’s safe to say standing in lines that long multiple times isn’t the most fun. Well, do we have a little Insider tip for you!
During my last trip, I discovered that most guests started grabbing spots for the 3:30 pm “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” about an hour early. When checking wait times around 2:45, I discovered the wait for Haunted Mansion Holiday was only 35 minutes long! Of course, I power-walked right over and hopped in line. After I got off the ride, I rechecked the wait times on the app, and Haunted Mansion Holiday had already gone back up to an 85-minute wait! “it’s a small world” Holiday, though, was only a 25-minute wait then (the parade was still going on)! This attraction is on the opposite side of the park from Haunted Mansion, so I hustled over and got in line during the tail end of the parade.
So that’s the big Insider tip! Hop on one or both of these attractions between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm as people grab spots and watch the parade. Of course, we can’t guarantee that the wait times will be low between these times every single day during the holiday season, but I found you do have a much better chance of lower wait times AND getting more time back in your day; this is a great little hack for those who choose not to purchase Genie+! If you choose to add Genie+ to your day, I highly advise you to prioritize booking these two attractions first, as the windows book up early, and by late morning, there will likely be no time windows left.
