The holiday season at the Disney Parks is arguably one of the best times to visit. We know Disney knows how to bring the festive celebrations and the decor. Disneyland is my home park, so I am especially in the know of all the best ways to celebrate and enjoy the holiday season at the park. Here is a list of some of our favorite things to do at Disneyland during this magical time of year!

Food and Treats

Disneyland has released its Foodie Guides for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure (including for the Festival of Holidays!). There’s always so many festive food, treats, and beverages to try. I advise you to check these guides before your trip and figure out what you want to try. There’s no way you’ll be able to try them all in one trip, so you’ll want to make sure you plan ahead and try what you’re most excited about.

Entertainment

The entertainment is pure holiday magic! My personal favorite is The Christmas Fantasy Parade. This parade goes twice daily, one at 3:30 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. You can catch the parade from November 10, 2023, to January 7, 2024. A few delightful highlights include prancing reindeer, marching toy soldiers, dancing gingerbread cookies, and more!

You also won’t want to miss out on “Believe…In Holiday Magic” Fireworks (yes, there’s snowfall during the show!) at Disneyland and World of Color-Season of Light at Disney California Adventure.

Back at Disneyland, one special event that occurs twice a night is Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. The castle is decked out in icicles, wreaths, and festive décor. Each evening, you can watch the iconic edifice shimmer to life. As snow falls and music fills the air, watch thousands of twinkling lights illuminated in stages. It’s a truly breathtaking sight!

Before you leave the park, don’t forget to visit the “it’s a small world” Holiday! This attraction gets decorated so beautifully for the holiday season, and there is a lighting ceremony every evening just before dark. You will be enchanted by the iconic façade, adorned with thousands of shimmering lights for the season.

Characters

Mickey and his friends usually debut new holiday outfits every year. Here’s a peek at Mickey and Minnie in their holiday best for the 2023 season! Check out the mid-century modern-inspired looks they’ll sport in Disneyland Park, putting a spin on the classic red and green with the addition of pastel colors and playful prints. These looks will include snowy sparkle and peep their matching holly brooches crafted by Minnie Mouse herself. Don’t they “sleigh”?! We can’t wait to see both of them and the rest of the gang starting November 10!

Santa Claus will also be available for meet-and-greets at Disneyland (Pooh’s Corner) and Disney California Adventure (Redwood Creek Challenge) AND the Grand California Adventure Hotel. He will also be available at the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Check the Disneyland app for times, and say Ho-Ho-Hello before Santa heads back to the North Pole!
